CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY ACCEPTING
APPLICATIONS FOR NEW PROGRAM - Concordia University, Irvine,
CA, announced that it is opening
a new academic program to help nurses advance in their careers through earning
a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The program will help the more than 80
percent of working registered nurses (RNs) who do not have a bachelor’s degree
in their field. Courses will be held on week nights and weekends to work around
nurses’ working schedules. Depending on each student’s accumulated credits, it
is possible to receive a BSN in one year over three semesters. The program,
offered through Concordia’s School of Business and Professional Studies, is
designed for nurses who have a current and clear California RN license to
practice and are graduates of an Associate Degree in Nursing (A.D.N.)
program. Through Concordia, RNs will earn 90 hours clinical experience in a
public health setting to prepare them to apply for the California Public Health
Certificate. Nurses can apply for fall 2007 and begin earning additional
credits before nursing classes begin in spring 2008. For more

LAY
LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM CLASSES are offered to people in Lutheran churches of the Pacific
Southwest District, LCMS who desire to become certified deacons or parish
ministry assistants within their respective congregations. Individuals
who desire neither the deacon or parish ministry assistant certification are
welcome to take part in these classes providing full tuition is paid.
